The Hedonia Club of Waco, established in 1937, is a distinguished social organization dedicated to enriching the city’s social traditions. The club’s primary mission is to present young women to the community at an annual formal ball, thereby preserving Waco’s longstanding customs in an atmosphere of elegance and splendor. Since its inception, the Hedonia Club has introduced over four hundred debutantes to society, underscoring its commitment to tradition and community engagement.
“Hedonia Club’s ball is part of the social fabric of Waco,” said Chris DeCluitt, recent club president. “Presenting the debutantes and junior debutantes — and providing them and their families a night to remember — is what it’s all about.” But while Hedonia’s main event is the presentation ball, it is a social club with events for members and their families all year long.
“We are a gentlemen’s organization dedicated to honoring the traditions of the past,” DeCluitt said, “while keeping things fresh and new for our members. The spirit of Hedonia Club is alive and relevant even today.”
Membership in the Hedonia Club is exclusively by invitation, reflecting its prestigious standing within the community. Individuals interested in being considered for membership are encouraged to complete an inquiry form on the Contact Us page, which will be directed to the membership committee for review. This process ensures that the club maintains its esteemed membership base, composed of individuals dedicated to upholding and enhancing Waco’s social heritage.
